What’s on at Printers

Printers Playhouse is a community arts hub and live music venue boasting one of the friendliest bars in Eastbourne.

We welcome you to enjoy our safe, friendly environment whether you are popping in for a drink, taking in a show or attending one of our many group workshops which include:

Working with Lucy, set designer for the Community Christmas show.

Making fun props for Treasure island, suitable for those who are keen but not too skilled to those that love making things artfully from junk! This year's style is Bollywood sparkle meets Carnaby street, vivid and bold!

Modern Flood Myths

From £4 per session

Imagining the future of Eastbourne in the context of climate change. A collaborative project of art and written word resulting in an immersive exhibition at PPH at the end of May.

Doodle Arts

£8 a session, materials provided.

Weekly sessions run by Lucy Dean, local artist. Start with a doodle and see where it goes using different materials and exploring different themes.

Community Choir

£8 per session (payable each term in advance)

The PPH Community Choir welcomes people of all abilities to enjoy the buzz of singing as a group.

Our members select the songs so there is always an eclectic set list at our performances.

Ukulele Army

From £3 per session

Learning and performing a range of popular songs, the Ukulele Army are a great bunch who run an open practice session every Tuesday from 7.30pm until late.

On gig nights there's nothing like it in the area, the atmosphere is amazing.

Creative Writing

Ever felt there’s a story, a poem or just something inside you looking for a way to get out?

Our Creative Writing session, Led by Oli Piotrowski, will help you to effectively put down the words to tell that story.

All levels of experience are welcomed including those new to writing.

Improboots

These improvisation sessions are the talk of the town!!

You’ll get to stretch your creativity and learn to truly listen and communicate while improving your confidence and most importantly having fun.

Open Stage Night

Free

This is a fantastic way to test out your talent whatever your level of accomplishment.

This is for singers, musicians, spoken word artists comedians… in fact anyone who has a talent and wants to try out their material in a friendly and supportive environment. And don’t be surprised if you find yourself supported by other musicians as jamming kicks in!

All abilities welcome.

Treasure Island

The Printers Playhouse Arts Community Christmas Show

Carrie Hawking's financial woes seem to be at an end when she comes across a map leading to buried treasure.

But she can’t possibly have prepared for the sordid shenanigans of Long John Silver and his band of scoundrels, not to mention his sister!

Medium Joan Silver, the stronger of the siblings who fights tooth and nail for recognition in the male-dominated pirate profession.

Can a pair of confused fairies, a group of dockyard urchins, and a talking parrot save the day? Or will the rum run out before we find out?
