The curtain came down on the Printers Playhouse Arts Stars in Disguise competition on Saturday evening as a sold-out audience packed our theatre for a spectacular Grand Final featuring 18 talented contestants competing for the coveted title.
The finalists brought their very best to the stage, creating an evening that showcased not only vocal talent but also creativity, commitment, courage and a willingness to embrace the spirit of performance. The range of acts on display was remarkable, with contestants channelling stars from across the musical spectrum, from the deep country tones of Johnny Cash to the theatrical heavy rock of Alice Cooper.
Stars in Disguise Grand Final Delivers a Night to Remember
The standard throughout the evening was exceptionally high, giving both the judges and audience plenty to enjoy. One particularly moving highlight came from Lyn Houghton, whose heartfelt rendition of Susan Boyle's version of Wild Horses left many audience members visibly emotional and demonstrated the power of live performance at its very best.
As if that wasn't enough entertainment, the second half got off to a flying start with a special appearance from Elvis Presley, brilliantly portrayed by the evening's compère, Al, who brought plenty of fun and energy to the proceedings before the competition resumed.
After an evening of memorable performances, the judges announced the winners:
Best Character Embodiment: Colin and Stevie
Best Vocal Performance: Lauren
Best Audience Reaction: Harry "H"
Overall Winner of Stars in Disguise 2026: Margaret
Congratulations go to all of our winners, but also to every finalist who stepped onto the stage. Reaching the Grand Final was an achievement in itself, and every contestant played a vital part in making the evening such a success.
A heartfelt thank you must also go to our wonderful audience. With all seats sold, the room was filled with enthusiasm, encouragement and support from start to finish. We are especially grateful to everyone who bought raffle tickets, purchased Printers Playhouse fridge magnets, or made donations through our website. Your generosity helps us continue supporting arts and creativity in our community.
Finally, thank you to the volunteers, organisers, judges and everyone working behind the scenes who helped bring the event together. Stars in Disguise continues to be one of the most enjoyable and entertaining events in the Printers Playhouse calendar, and this year's Grand Final was a fitting celebration of the talent, friendship and community spirit that make it so special.
Well done to everyone who took part, and especially to Margaret, this year's Stars in Disguise champion.
